The church hosted a block party for its members and businesses in their area who were also affected by the September Flood. Regular services resumed at the church on Easter Sunday after the flood left their building under ten feet of water.
The party was their way of thanking those who helped them get back on their feet and to share stories with other businesses in the area.? The Lead Pastor says that despite the hardships they've endured there were some positive things that came out of it.?
"The friendships that have developed here and on Valley Plaza and all these businesses and Mom's House back here.
We just developed friendships with people we knew as businesses, but we didn't know them" said Lead Pastor Gary Sawyer.
The Pastor says the money that they raised at the block party will help Mom's house get back on their feet.
