BMW Group DesignworksUSA is a global design consultancy, specializing in design strategy and research, design development and creative consulting. Driving creativity for nearly forty years, DesignworksUSA has been part of the BMW Group since 1995, serving equally its parent company and many of the world?s leading brands outside the automotive industry to mutual benefit. In our new Shanghai Studio, located in the Huangpu District, we will bring invaluable insights from the Chinese market to further inform our global perspective for our clients.
We are seeking a team member for our Shanghai studio specialized in Automotive Exterior Design.
Responsibilities:
? Create innovate exterior design concepts for all BMW Group brands (BMW, BMW i, MINI, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars)
? Have experience with all phases of the design process, from ideation throughout production
? Create compelling and appropriate design proposals for various concept and production vehicles in form of sketches, renderings and 3D digital models. Candidates with Alias skills are preferred
? Make compelling presentations of new thoughts and innovative designs, both orally and visually
? Collaborate closely with internal cross-discipline teams and external clients, suppliers and creative partners across global locations
? Guide project teams under the lead of creative directors
Specific Skills
Requirements:
? Full spectrum of skills of a cutting edge senior designer, embracing all facets of a holistic design approach
? Knowledge of production processes and materials, strong awareness of aesthetic excellence and design quality
? Strong project management, communication and visual presentation skills
? Proficient skills in 2D and 3D (Adobe CS5, Alias Studio Tools, etc.)
? Team-oriented and inspiring with a positive, hands-on attitude
? Ability to effectively communicate and present design concepts and deliver powerful presentations
? Demonstrated exceptional creative proficiency with supporting portfolio
? Fluent in Mandarin and English with ability to present to senior executives
? Bachelor?s Degree in Transportation or Industrial Design or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years exterior automotive design experience
