The College of Arts and Letters at Michigan State University seeks applicants for a dynamic Marketing and Communications Manager to direct and administer the planning, development, budgeting, and execution of the College of Arts and Letters' dynamic marketing and communication strategy; as a core college with a focus on a broad liberal arts education, the College of Arts and Letters educates actors, artists, designers, filmmakers, linguists, philosophers, poets, teachers, translators, writers, and much more while exposing students to the major cultural issues facing a global society; the College employs engaged, talented, and forward-thinking faculty and scholars to educate our students and bring public focus to the arts and humanities; arts and humanities education in the College of Arts and Letters fosters creativity, critical thinking and communication skills, the ability to see issues from multiple perspectives, and a solid sense of social responsibility in our graduates; the successful candidate will play an important role in communicating the mission of the College of Arts and Letters to its constituents and will have the responsibility for implementing an integrated marketing and communication strategy for the College and will be responsible for oversight over all internal and external marketing and communications activities for the College as a whole as well as for the departments and programs within the College; also develops innovative and creative solutions to publicize and disseminate information about the College to a wide variety of constituents, as well as creating and coordinating the branding of the College through the use of traditional and non-traditional media outlets, i.e. envisions; oversees the College's social media presence; manages the creation of Web; directs and/or writes content for various formats including speeches, talking points, newsletters, emails, and Web; contributes to the creation of story themes and messaging strategies for a wide range of audiences/communications; creates and manages a wide range of print and electronic initiatives as part of an overall vision to publicize the achievements of the College; conceives, writes, researches, edits, and produces and disseminates print and electronic content such as newsletters and other communications; identifies and coordinates public relations opportunities with the office of University Relations. ? Minimum Qualifications Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in communications, marketing, business, public relations, or related field; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervision and in the administration and development of marketing and communication strategies and programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. ? Desired Qualifications At least five years experience working in a field related to the Arts and Humanities administering, developing, and implementing marketing and communication strategies; a master's degree in public relations, marketing, or communications; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage competing priorities; exceptional written and oral communication skills; a strategic thinker with a proven ability to craft marketing communications visions; strong influential management skills; the ability to recruit, hire, supervise, and train the staff within the communications area of the college in a way that creates a collaborative team environment.
